President's Message
Dear Colleagues,
The 50th Annual Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons Meeting will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Red Rock Hotel December 8-12, 2008. It is the premier scientific meeting for military Orthopaedic surgeons and offers an opportunity for each of us to enhance our knowledge, earn CME credit and rekindle relationships with past and present military Orthopaedic colleagues as we celebrate 50 years of SOMOS. LCDR John-Paul Rue, MD, CDR Dan Hebert, MD, and MAJ Ronald Lehman, MD, are the scientific program co-directors and are already planning an outstanding program with national leaders from all Orthopaedic Specialties.
Two unique presentations at this year's meeting will be: COL John Feagin, MD (Ret), presenting a 50 year history of SOMOS and Dr. E. Anthony Rankin, current President of AAOS, addressing our subspecialty organization. Two highlights not to be missed at this year's meeting!
Registration for the conference is already open at
www.somos.org and the Red Rock Hotel is also available to take your hotel reservations. Abstract submissions will be done electronically again this year and have a final deadline of July 1, 2008. Mark your calendar now and plan on a great meeting in Vegas!
