COL Brian Allgood Military Orthopaedic Leadership Memorial Award

The Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons (SOMOS) Leadership is dedicating an annual award in memory of COL Brian Duane Allgood. This recognition will be awarded at the SOMOS Annual Meeting. The recipient will be selected on the basis of excellence in Orthopaedics and Military Leadership.

SOMOS Label Pins

SOMOS Lapel Pins - In order to encourage membership renewal, every person who joins or renews his/her membership by 1 August 2008 will receive a free SOMOS lapel pin (pictured at right) at the annual meeting in Las Vegas. Also points towards the annual Captain's Cup will be awarded for the service with the highest percent membership - GO NAVY! Job Board

The SOMOS website announces a brand new online Job Board! The Job Board is for former Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, but can be accessed by the general public. Please notify any associates who are interested in the job board.

SOMOS shall hold at least one general meeting each year. This meeting shall be primarily of a scientific nature.

The scientific meeting provides a forum for presentation of research papers in a collegial setting, wherein SOMOS members may seek critical and constructive analysis of their observations, conclusions, and recommendations.

The annual meeting also provides numerous opportunities for SOMOS members to meet in an informal setting to establish or renew acquaintances, share recent experiences, and solve common problems.
