MARCH 2008 SOMA CONFERENCE UPDATE

MEMBERSHIP
Starting this year, the SOMA Board of Directors has set a membership fee separate
from the Conference Registration fee. The $50 membership fee entitles you to a membership
for one year from the date of joining SOMA and entitles you to four Journals a year
starting with the issue just sent. TRUE will send the paid membership list for one
year to the SOMA member who is managing the Journal and you will receive your Journals
for one year. Within a week of TRUE receiving your membership application and funds,
you will receive your 2008 membership card that indicates you are a member for 2008.
If you completed the membership information on the SOMA website and stated on your
application that you paid or will pay by check, your name will not be submitted
to receive the Journal or as a member until TRUE receives your check in the amount
of $50.
REGISTRATON
The 2008 SOMA Conference will be held Monday December 15 through Thursday December
18, 2008. The Surgeons Meeting will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
You will need to register on the web site for the conference this year. A 2008 membership
does not register you for the conference as it did last year. Registration fees
are as follows:

Enlisted, Civilian Medics $ 100.00

Officers, Physicians, Physicians Assistants, Nurses $ 125.00

Civilian, Federal Employees $ 125.00

BUSINESS PERSONNEL
The Business Personnel registration is new this year.
Business solicitation will not be permitted at the conference or during the conference
without purchasing a booth or table. Any person seen congregating with a group of
members without a booth will be asked to leave the conference. If you want to take
a member to dinner and attend the session without purchasing a booth, the cost is
$ 500.00 per attendee.

CME
CME request will be accepted until February 2, 2009!
CME will be provided by an accredited Institution for the following members:
- Doctors
- Health Administrators
- Nurses

TRUE or SOMA has no responsibility to send CME’s after the conference. CME’s will
be provided after the conference and sent from the accredited Institution as per
the guidelines of the accredited Institution.
CEU
CEU request will be accepted until February 2, 2009!

CEU’s are provided by USSOCOM Surgeon’s Command and are distributed the day of the
conference. TRUE cannot send certificates after the conference as all signed documents
have been returned to USSOCOM and TRUE does not distribute CEU’s.
